Deciphering how the interplay between dysbiosis and MAIT cells impacts skin repair
The primary objective of the IMMUNESTA project is to better understand the crosstalk between skin microbiota and host immune responses in wound repair, with a focus on Mucosal-Associated invariant T (MAIT) cells and Staphylococcus aureus. Our hypothesis is that specific bacterial clones could have distinct abilities to modulate the severity of skin and systemic inflammatory responses according to their impact on immune cells, namely MAIT cells. This will be explored by our bacterial strain collection from a cohort of patients with a model disease of chronic non-healing wounds.
